eVTOLs changing how we travel

What are they?

Imagine hundreds of thousands of take off and landing spots!

Giant drones: EVTOLs Electronic Vertical Take Off and Landing. Imagine a giant drone with multiple rotors like a helicopter. Each rotor is powered instead of by gas by a battery which can be quickly recharged. These are much lighter and more energy efficient as well as quieter than a traditional helecopter.

I was excited recently that the FAA created new airspace rules that will enable new routes .

Who is leading the way?

Great start ups There are several exciting companies now manufacturing piloted vehicles and as well as unmanned. Delta recent did a deal with Archer to potentially start flying poeple from Manhattan to the surrounding airports such as JFK and Newark.

Why are they important

Roads are becoming too crowded and urban congestion is spiraling up. Big heavy planes and helicopters are extremely harsh in terms of carbon footprint. I think the rechargeable batteries will help more be people be able to afford to fly since prices could be lower.

Who will fly them

ME ! have heard from others there could be thousands of these aircraft that need pilots. Many older pilots could retire and so I hope to possibly be involved in designing EVTOLS or working on engineering but also it would be fun to fly above cities.
