My first IFR flight was on May 11, 2024. We started at Palomar Airport and got flight following to go to Ramona Airport and do takeoffs and landings. The ceiling was incredibly low and it was slightly windy. We took off and climbed out directly through the clouds and then went above them. It was really cool being above the clouds as the pilot, and not the passenger. After doing TOL’s at Ramona we flew back to Palomar and landed in the clouds. It was a much more difficult landing than I was used too but it was a great learning experience.
